Song dictations at the Francofolies de la Rochelle

Making a Better World, the Francophonie Festival joined forces with the Francofolies in La Rochelle and 1 Hebdo to organize song dictations from 11 to 13 July.

During the Francofolies in La Rochelle, the Dor school hosted the first edition of Dictées de chansons (song dictations). This collaboration with Making a Better World, the Francophonie Festival and 1 Hebdo was a light-hearted opportunity for linguistic discovery, bringing people together to learn about the specificities of the French language. Over the course of three days, the participants travelled through Francophonie, accompanied by the storytellers Poudre Noir, Julie Gayet, Gérard Pont, Joanne Radao, Cyril Dion and Arthur Fu Bandini.

Miossec, Souchon, Aya Nakamura…

The dictations began with the (re)discovery of the florid, poetic slang of past and present streets with Renaud’s Marche à l’ombre and La Boulette by Diam’s.

The next day showcased artists and pieces celebrating various Francophone regions and cultures. In swift succession, participants travelled the world, stopping in Brittany, Rwanda and Acadia, with Brest by Miossec, Chalouper by Gaël Faye and Cerveau ramolli by Lisa LeBlanc.

These dictations were also an opportunity to reach hearts, with Foule sentimentale by Alain Souchon and Djadja by Aya Nakamura.
