Explore the Francophonie Village!
Take a tour around the world, from your doorstep! From Wednesday 2 to Sunday 6 October, the CENTQUATRE-PARIS will transform into a huge Francophonie Village, a place for cultural exchange and discovery, running in tandem with the 19th Summit of the International Organisation of La Francophonie.
Wander through the Pavilions of dozens of French-speaking countries from all over the world, take part in discussions and discover cultural diversity through shows and performances that pay tribute to the creativity and living arts of the world’s continents.
An unmissable event for all those who are passionate about or wish to discover the world of creation and new horizons.
Free entry. Events for adults and children.
Organized in dialogue with the International Organisation of the Francophonie, its Member States and governments, the Francophonie Village will be a prime forum where participating countries can present their cultures, initiatives and heritage to the general public. Discover all these countries where the French language is a bridge for creating, innovating and doing business: Ghana, Canada, Côte d’Ivoire, Greece, Luxembourg, Quebec, Vietnam, Andorra, Kosovo and more. Over 40 countries and regions of the world will meet for five days at the CENTQUATRE-PARIS, a hub of innovation and culture in the heart of the 19th arrondissement, to offer a concoction showcasing the diversity and wealth of the Francophone world. This unmissable event in Paris, one of the biggest of its kind, contributes to the momentum of the Francophonie Festival, celebrated in France from March to October 2024.
During these days and evenings, you can freely visit the national Pavilions set in a brightly coloured décor, talk with representatives of each country, discover a rich multidisciplinary programme that offers theatre, concerts, immersive experiences, digital art, photography, cinema, dance and hip-hop performances, meetings with inspiring and committed personalities and stand-up comedy with leading artists from the French-speaking world.
In the evenings of Friday 4 and Saturday 5 October, slam poetry concerts and comedy shows will take place in the Village.
The Village, which will be designed to reflect an open, multilingual Francophonie, will be made up of some 40 pavilions for all of the countries represented. Visitors can contribute actively to the debates, discussions and contributory efforts of the exhibiting countries. Young people will be particularly encouraged to get involved, either as spectators or direct contributors. Dedicated activity areas will offer interactive activities and thematic trails for school children, with learning kits and treasure hunts to discover Francophone cultures in a fun way.
Come celebrate Francophonie in all its cultural wealth and diversity. Meet us in the Francophonie Village for a journey through the cultures of the world’s continents.
