The programmeWith music, cinema, comedy, sound poetry, literature, visual arts and more, creation in the French language in all its diversity will be showcased throughout the Festival by way of varied cultural and artistic activities, such as musical, poetic, comedic and storytelling performances, literary readings, film screenings, visual art exhibitions featuring work by various international artists, and cultural workshops. Events will take place in the daytime and in the evening in different spaces at La Gaîté Lyrique, and will be open to all – families, students, school groups, professionals, the “just curious” and culture aficionados alike – but with a particular focus on young people.
The programme will also highlight a Francophonie of action, ideas and discussions to address major societal challenges, covering media literacy, civic engagement, feminism, sustainable development, mobility and cultural entrepreneurship. This programme will offer the public opportunities to discover inspiring Frenchspeaking figures throughout the week. By joining us and sharing their creations, inventions and visions of the world, these figures will contribute to shaping the Francophonie of tomorrow, and celebrating it as a force for transformation in the world.

To celebrate the Francophonie Festival, a number of partner sites will also hold events elsewhere in Paris, including Universcience, the Institut de France and the Bibliothèque Nationale de France. But that’s not all – Francophonie will also be celebrated throughout the rest of France, thanks to the Centre des Monuments Nationaux and the Cité Internationale de la Langue Française in VillersCotterêts in particular, which will fully contribute to the vibrancy of the Festival by offering a special cultural programme.
